The North Coast Peace Officer Training Foundation (NCPOTF) is a not-for-profit LLC whose primary goal is to bring real world training to local law enforcement, at no cost to the officer or department.

NCPOTF was created to enhance and support local law-enforcement agencies in the continuous training of officers to respond in an ever changing, dynamic and demanding environment.

Due to changing state and federal mandates, budget restraints, and insufficient staffing, many law enforcement agencies have been forced to cut back or eliminate training. About the Founder

Doug Emery, Instructor / RSO

Doug Emery is the founder and President of the North Coast Peace Officer Training Foundation (NCPOTF).

NCPOTF collaborates with local and national instructors to teach real-world officer training. Doug’s goal for NCPOTF is for officers to have knowledge, tactics and confidence in their skills and training to properly handle each unique law enforcement situation. NCPOTF brings together instruction, along with safe environments for training in areas that most local law enforcement cannot afford to do. In most cases NCPOTF offers the training at no cost to the officer.

Since 2015 Doug has worked in armed security, currently holding a Class A license in Investigation & Security through Belltower International. Doug has taken numerous training courses from local and national instructors, including Costa Ludus, Shiv Works, Pat McNamara, and Forge Tactical; he has a 40-year history of hunting, IDPA, and skeet shooting. Doug has over 100 hours of Certified CQB Shoot House Training, as well as more than 80 hours of Tactical Medical Certifications in Self Aid / Buddy Aid. Doug is an OPOTC - Certified Semi-Auto Pistol Instructor.

The passion and dedication Doug has for instruction and continued training is unmatched. Doug approaches training instruction with a humble mindset and a generous spirit. Doug feels each one of us has knowledge and personal experience to share and learn from, and he has a tireless dedication and desire to learn, train, and improve his skills daily.
